Full day at leisure to explore the city highlights like the Forbidden City, the Tiananmen Square, the Temple of Heaven, the Summer Palace etc before taking the overnight sleeper train to Xian

Arrival in Xian in the morning,stay the night in central traveler class hotel. Rest of the day at leisure to explore the downtown highlights like the Big Wild Goose Pagoda,the well preserved City Wall, the Bell & Drum towers, the Muslim quarter, and many great museums

Time at leisure. seat train to Wuwei,a very important town on the old Silk Road along the Hexi Corridor,which has lots of historical and cultural relics. Full day at leisure to explore the Grand Bazaar, the biggest of its kind in central Asia area. Or, opportunity to take the excursion to visit the beautiful Karakul Lake near the China-Pakistan border

Morning free to explore. Afternoon to take the overnight sleeper train to Urumqi,capital city of Xinjiang

the Heavenly Lake

Arrive in Urumqi in the morning. Meet the driver and transfer to the central traveler class hotel for the night. Rest of the day at leisure. Optional excursion to visit the Heavenly Lake 45 km to the east of Urumqi. Opportunity to visit a local Kazakh family in yurts.
